If you’ve been in the Lipedema community for a while, you’ll know how exhausting it can be to sift through the endless supplements all claiming to be ‘miracle cures’ that reduce painful Lipedema symptoms.
I’m always a little sceptical when something new pops up, but a few months ago I decided to give Lipera a proper try and I wanted to share exactly what it is, why it’s formulated the way it is, and what I’ve noticed so far.
What Is Lipera?
Lipera is a supplement specifically designed for women navigating Lipedema and other lymphatic conditions. It was created by Dr Boris Volshteyn, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specialises in Lipedema Reduction Surgery, and it’s built around his years of clinical experience treating Lipedema patients.
Unlike a lot of generic supplements that get rebranded for whatever condition is trending, Lipera is formulated specifically with Lipedema’s underlying issues in mind – swelling, fluid retention, sluggish lymphatic flow and the chronic low-grade inflammation that keeps our tissue feeling heavy, tender and stubborn.

Why It’s Aimed at Women With Lipedema
The formula combines 17 different compounds, each chosen for a specific role in supporting the systems that tend to struggle most when you have Lipedema:
- Diosmin, Hesperidin & Selenium – bioflavonoids studied for their role in supporting microvascular and lymphatic stability, and helping maintain capillary integrity.
- Curcumin & Quercetin – compounds that help regulate inflammatory signalling in adipose tissue, which is a big deal when so much about Lipedema comes down to inflammation-driven tissue changes.
- NMN & Bromelain – support cellular energy and enzymatic processes involved in lymphatic transport and fluid handling.
- Rutin – supports capillary integrity and helps reduce excess fluid escaping into tissue (basically, less pooling and less puffiness).
- Vitamin D – many of us are chronically low in this because it gets trapped within Lipedema-affected fat tissue, so restoring healthy levels can support lymphatic function.
- Butcher’s Broom & Cleavers Herb – traditionally used to support lymphatic vessel tone and fluid movement.
- Magnesium Glycinate, Vitamin C, CoQ10, Resveratrol, Calendula & Dandelion – rounding out the formula to support circulation, tissue repair and general comfort.
As with any supplement, these are statements about how the ingredients are studied to function, not medical claims. Lipera hasn’t been evaluated by the FDA and isn’t intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent Lipedema or any disease. I’d always recommend chatting to your GP before adding something new into your routine, especially if you’re already on medication or have other health conditions.
My Experience with Lipera
I’ve been taking Lipera for a few months now, and honestly, I’m really loving the results.
The biggest change for me has been the swelling. My legs feel noticeably less swollen day to day, which was an absolute godsend getting through summer – anyone with Lipedema knows how much worse everything feels once the heat sets in, but this year felt genuinely more manageable with Lipera! My legs didn’t have that heavy, tight, about to burst feeling in 30+ degree heat.

What’s actually surprised me most is my face. I hadn’t really connected facial puffiness to my Lipedema before, but since starting Lipera I’ve noticed my face looks less swollen too. It’s a small thing, but it’s made a real difference to how I feel when I look in the mirror.
Lipera hasn’t been a magic cure, I’m still managing my Lipedema the way I always have, with an anti-inflammatory diet for Lipedema, my exercise routine and compression etc. But as one piece of that bigger picture, it’s earned its place in my daily routine and I’ll keep updating you as I continue using it.
*As always, this is my personal experience and not medical advice – everyone’s body and Lipedema journey is different, so please talk to your doctor before starting any new supplement.

Hi! Great to have feedback on this. I have been wanting to try it, but the import costs are really high. Are you buying 6 months at a time to make it cost effective? Or have you found a UK distributor?
Hi Lara,
Unfortunately, I haven’t found a UK distributor.
I think you can use code Gracie1 for free shipping on your first order, but the costs are very high to the UK.
Hopefully they’ll lower them over time.
